The Database Administrator is responsible for establishing a configuration management database and maintaining the internal integrity or possible inter-database integrity of each database. Main activities include:
- Create a configuration management database ------ controlled master database used to store configuration items
- Maintain and control the Library Content
- Place the configuration item in the memory based on the configuration item approval
- Create and maintain metadata
- Publish configuration items for use on the basis of the release request
- Publish configuration items for Production
- Exchange Configuration Management Library Content
- Generate a template for the status report
- Extract information used to generate status reports
- Extract special information, such as metric data of other processes
- Control Configuration Management Library
- Check metadata integrity
- Possible and general database management activities, such as data compression
- Possible backup activities
