SCOM 2012 Knowledge Sharing-12: Managing the Web Console

System Center 2012–operations Manager operators Use the console to view monitoring data. The available consoles are the operations console and the WEB console. The operations console allows you to perform all actions allowed by the user role, while the WEB console displays only the My workspace and monitoring workspaces.

Some differences between the operations console and the WEB console should be noted:

1. There are some slight differences in sorting. For example, in the Web console, when you sort the alert, the system only sorts the visible alerts on the page instead of all the alerts.

2. The number of alerts displayed per page in the Web console is small.

3. You cannot run a task in the WEB console that requires elevated access rights.

4. Although you can create a dashboard view in my workspace in the Web console, you cannot choose to show, hide, personalize, or create views in the Web console.

5. There are no subscription options in the Web console.

The Operations Manager Web Console requires JavaScriptto be enabled. To enable JavaScript in Internet Explorer, open Internet Options, and then click the Security tab. Select the zone for the Web console (Internet, Local intranet, or trusted site), and then click Custom Level. To enable Active Scripting, click OK, click OK, and then connect to the Web console.

After the login is successful, the initial configuration is required.

By default, the Web console session is limited to 30 minutes . You can do this by editing the Web. config file (Program Files\System Center Operations Manager 2012\webconsole\webhost) and changing it to a shorter or longer interval from "a" autosignoutinterval Value change this limit or disable session limit value to "0"
