Hello everyone, I am glad to share with you today some of the small features of system Center 2016-operations Manager. The previous talk about SCOM 2016 is for monitoring alarms by distributing agents on the client.
I'm going to study with you today. Scom 2016 monitors and configures IIS Web page services.
In fact, for the monitoring needs of IIS, I believe that we still have a lot of hard-to-use, because there will be more or less in the enterprise using IIS Web service services, such as EXCHANGE/SHAREPOINT/CRM and so on.
Perhaps everyone in the previous operations and the daily Management center, often found some server "tamping" situation, the server normal operation, IP also ping pass, but is the Web service hangs, this time, if scom can use other methods to detect, it is good.
In the previous article, I have mentioned a thing called "Administrative Template", when we download and deploy the administrative template, we can see that Microsoft has actually created many kinds of templates for us to choose, then will there be an Administrative template for IIS?
Next we'll look at how to monitor these IIS services through SCOM2016.
First, we select "Administrative Templates" in the "admin" function bar, then right-click on "Download Administrative Templates"
Click "Add"
After entering "IIS" as the keyword lookup, we can see that the system has searched for us a lot of IIS templates, and later with the operation version of the server, easy to identify.
Because my IIS Web services are all used by Windows Server R2, so I choose IIS 2012 here
Direct download succeeded.
And then import the template
Select the two template files you just downloaded and click Install.
Import succeeded
The template import for IIS succeeds, we return to the authoring function bar, select the Management Pack template, right-select the Create Monitoring Wizard
Select "Web application Availability Monitoring" and click Next
Name the Web monitor that you created, and in the Select Destination Management Pack, select the
Enter the URL of the Web service you need to monitor and click Next
Next select the Monitoring server, please note that this is not "monitored server", is to select a number of servers to monitor the URL address of the server, the equivalent of choosing more than a few people from different angles to monitor this URL, you can understand as "multi-person onlookers."
You can see that we have selected two "onlookers monitoring" client servers, click Run Test.
My test results are as follows, the test should be passed, but literally as if the error condition evaluation failed, specifically what problems I came down alone, and then updated.
This test is normal when I create the mail service.
Also, you can customize some of the alarm standards
To view the configuration summary information, click "Create"
You can see that it's been created.
Create similar Web application usability monitoring in the same way
Monitoring activities in the alarm can be seen in the content of the monitor, while the configuration of the mail notification is also collected to notify the email alert.
