P2v is a physical machine converted to a virtual machine. If our company used to use physical servers and now wants to use virtualization technology, p2v is a good function.

Currently, my network topology is as follows:

Objective: To convert 2003 physical machines to a virtual machine on the hyper-V host using scvmm2008r2.

Note:

1. Disable the firewall above 2003

2. Ensure normal communication between the scvmm server and the converted Physical Machine

3. Set the administrator password for the physical machine.

4.2003 enable the default share on the Physical Machine

5. The security options in the Group Policy perform authentication in Classic mode.

For example, we have a-2 virtual machine, which is equivalent to a physical machine in workstation.

Confirm the computer name, share by default, set the Administrator Password

Currently, computers are working group environments.

650) This. width = 650; "Title =" image "style =" border-top: 0px; border-Right: 0px; Background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px "border =" 0 "alt =" image "src =" http://img1.51cto.com/attachment/201408/26/2754337_1409034346J9hD.png "" 624 "Height =" 363 "/>

Let's go to scvmm2008r2 and select "Switch physical server"

650) This. width = 650; "Title =" image "style =" border-top: 0px; border-Right: 0px; Background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px "border =" 0 "alt =" image "src =" http://img1.51cto.com/attachment/201408/26/2754337_1409034347TQ9R.png "" 624 "Height =" 386 "/>

Enter the following information and select next

Enter 2003ptov02 as the Virtual Machine name and click Next.

650) This. width = 650; "Title =" image "style =" border-top: 0px; border-Right: 0px; Background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px "border =" 0 "alt =" image "src =" http://img1.51cto.com/attachment/201408/26/2754337_1409034348E3RF.png "" 624 "Height =" 442 "/>

Select "Scan System". p2v proxy will be installed physically. In addition, we can also learn the details and exclamation point prompts and select next.

650) This. width = 650; "Title =" image "style =" border-top: 0px; border-Right: 0px; Background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px "border =" 0 "alt =" image "src =" http://img1.51cto.com/attachment/201408/26/2754337_1409034348yXI7.png "" 624 "Height =" 442 "/>

Here we can select the volume to be converted. All are selected by default. I keep the default option to next.

650) This. width = 650; "Title =" image "style =" border-top: 0px; border-Right: 0px; Background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px "border =" 0 "alt =" image "src =" http://img1.51cto.com/attachment/201408/26/2754337_1409034349MZMH.png "" 624 "Height =" 445 "/>

Specify the processor and memory for the new computer and select next

Select the host for which you want to place the Virtual Machine. Here, we can select a host for most stars based on the actual situation. Here we select 2008-7 and next.

650) This. width = 650; "Title =" image "style =" border-top: 0px; border-Right: 0px; Background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px "border =" 0 "alt =" image "src =" http://img1.51cto.com/attachment/201408/26/2754337_1409034350D9e3.png "" 624 "Height =" 445 "/>

Select the storage location of the VM file on the host. Select D: \ vmm.

650) This. width = 650; "Title =" image "style =" border-top: 0px; border-Right: 0px; Background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px "border =" 0 "alt =" image "src =" http://img1.51cto.com/attachment/201408/26/2754337_1409034350mQaM.png "" 624 "Height =" 446 "/>

Physical to virtual conversion in progress

650) This. width = 650; "Title =" image "style =" border-top: 0px; border-Right: 0px; Background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px "border =" 0 "alt =" image "src =" http://img1.51cto.com/attachment/201408/26/2754337_1409034352kUXY.png "" 624 "Height =" 381 "/>

If the conversion is complete but a warning is generated, the system prompts that the vmm integration service installation times out. This does not matter.

650) This. width = 650; "Title =" image "style =" border-top: 0px; border-Right: 0px; Background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px "border =" 0 "alt =" image "src =" http://img1.51cto.com/attachment/201408/26/2754337_1409034353T0d8.png "" 624 "Height =" 426 "/>

For example, 2003ptov02 is currently on host

650) This. width = 650; "Title =" image "style =" border-top: 0px; border-Right: 0px; Background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px "border =" 0 "alt =" image "src =" http://img1.51cto.com/attachment/201408/26/2754337_1409034353PomB.png "" 624 "Height =" 424 "/>

For example, it works normally after 2003ptov02 is started.

650) This. width = 650; "Title =" image "style =" border-top: 0px; border-Right: 0px; Background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px "border =" 0 "alt =" image "src =" http://img1.51cto.com/attachment/201408/26/2754337_1409034354PFq2.png "" 624 "Height =" 525 "/>

VM files are generated on hyper-V host.

650) This. width = 650; "Title =" image "style =" border-top: 0px; border-Right: 0px; Background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px "border =" 0 "alt =" image "src =" http://img1.51cto.com/attachment/201408/26/2754337_1409034354J8Cn.png "" 624 "Height =" 487 "/>

As shown above, the physical machine is converted to a virtual machine.
