Security and anti-virus are the first USB device to disable WinXP

If the USB interface is not connected to a USB device, you can directly modify the user or group's "deny" permission on the USB stor. pnf and USB stor. inf in the "inf" directory in the system directory. Start the resource manager, find the % SystemRoot % Inf folder, and right-click Usbstor. pnf file, click "properties-security", and select the user or group to which the "deny" permission is set in the "Group or user name" list, then, select "deny" next to "permission for user name or group name-full control" and click "OK.

The operations on the Usbstor. inf file are the same as those described above.

In some cases, some USB devices may need to be inserted on the USB port for a long time to facilitate and eliminate the hassle of plugging. In this case, you can disable the USB device by modifying the Registry. You are advised to back up the registry before performing the operation. Run the "regedit" command and click "OK ". Locate the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesUsbStor, and change the value "Start" to 4 (note that it must be in hexadecimal format). Confirm and restart the Registry to apply the value.
