In the video surveillance system, the size requirement of the storage space capacity is related to the quality of the picture, the video line and so on. The following method is used to calculate the video storage space between the size and the transmission bandwidth.

Bit rate is the number of bits (bit) transmitted per second. Unit is bps (bitpersecond), the higher the bitrate, the larger the data is transmitted. The bitrate indicates how many bits per second the audio and video data are encoded (compressed), and the bit is the smallest unit in the binary, either 0 or 1. Bit rate and sound, video compression, the simple is that the higher the bitrate, the better the quality of the audio and video, but the larger the number of encoded files, if the bit rate is the opposite of the case.

Code stream (datarate) refers to the video file in the unit time use of data traffic, also known as the code rate, video coding is the most important part of the picture quality control. At the same resolution, the larger the stream size of the video file, the smaller the compression ratio, and the higher the picture quality.

The upstream bandwidth is the bandwidth that uploads the information locally to the network. Uplink rate refers to the user's computer to send information to the network data transfer rate, such as uploading files to the Internet with FTP, the impact of the upload speed is the "upstream rate."

Downlink bandwidth is the bandwidth to download information from the network. Downlink rate refers to the data transfer rate when the user's computer downloads information from the network, such as downloading files from the FTP server to the user's computer, which affects the rate of downlink.

The size definition table for the bitrate and the stream in different formats:

Transfer Bandwidth calculation:

Bit rate x the size of the camera = network bandwidth at least size;

Note: The bandwidth of the monitoring point is the minimum bandwidth required for upstream (monitoring points are uploaded to the Monitoring Center), and the bandwidth of the Monitoring center is the minimum bandwidth required for downlink (the video information of the monitoring point is downloaded to the Monitoring Center), for example: Telecom 2Mbps ADSL Broadband, 50 meters infrared camera theoretically its upstream bandwidth is 512kbps=64kb/s, and its downlink bandwidth is 2mbps=256kb/.

Example: monitoring distributed in 5 different places, the way of cameras in each place: n=10 (20) 1 Monitoring Center, remote monitor and storage of video information, storage time is 30 days. The bandwidth and storage space sizes of different video formats are calculated as follows:

Local monitoring points:

CIF video Format The bitrate of each camera is 512Kbps, that is, the data transmission bandwidth required for each camera is 512kbps,10, the data transmission bandwidth required for the camera is:

512Kbps (bit rate in video format) x10 (the multiplex of the camera) ≈5120kbps=5mbps (upstream bandwidth)

That is: The CIF video format for the local monitoring of the required network upstream bandwidth of at least 5Mbps;

D1 video Format The bitrate of each camera is 1.5Mbps, that is, the data transmission bandwidth required for each camera is the data transfer bandwidth required for 1.5mbps,10 cameras:

1.5Mbps (bit rate in video format) x10 (the multiplex of the camera) =15mbps (upstream bandwidth)

That is: the use of D1 video format to monitor the network upstream bandwidth required for at least 15Mbps;

720P (1 million megapixel) video format the bit rate for each camera is 2Mbps, i.e. the data transmission bandwidth required for each camera is the data transfer bandwidth required for the 2mbps,10 path camera:

2Mbps (bit rate in video format) x10 (the multiplex of the camera) =20mbps (upstream bandwidth)

That is: the use of 720P video format for local monitoring of the required network upstream bandwidth of at least 20Mbps;

1080P (2 million megapixel) video format the bit rate for each camera is 4Mbps, Zhejiang Wholesale Network Coding Board is the required data transmission bandwidth for each camera 4mbps,10 road camera required data transmission bandwidth:

4Mbps (bit rate in video format) x10 (the multiplex of the camera) =40mbps (upstream bandwidth)

That is: the use of 1080P video format for local monitoring of the required network upstream bandwidth of at least 40Mbps;

Monitoring center:

Required bandwidth for CIF video format:

512Kbps (bitrate in video format) x50 (sum of the total of cameras of the monitoring point) =kbps=25mbps (downlink bandwidth)

That is, the network downlink bandwidth required to use CIF Video format Monitoring Center is at least 25Mbps

D1 Required bandwidth for video formats:

1.5Mbps (bitrate in video format) x50 (sum of the total of cameras of the monitoring point) =75mbps (downlink bandwidth)

That is, the network downlink bandwidth required to use the D1 Video format Monitoring Center is at least 75Mbps

Required bandwidth for 720P (1 million megapixel) video format:

2Mbps (bitrate in video format) x50 (sum of the total of cameras of the monitoring point) =100mbps (downlink bandwidth)

That is, the network downstream bandwidth required by the 720P Video format Monitoring Center is at least 100Mbps.

Required bandwidth for 1080P (2 million megapixel) video format:

4Mbps (bitrate in video format) x50 (sum of the total of cameras of the monitoring point) =200mbps (downlink bandwidth)

That is, the network downstream bandwidth required by the 1080P Video format Monitoring Center is at least 200Mbps.

Storage space Calculation:

Stream size (unit: kb/s; bit rate ÷8) x3600 (in seconds; 1 hours in seconds) x24 (in hours; days of the day) x30 (number of days saved) x50 (monitor point to save total camera recording) ÷0.9 (disk formatted loss 10% space) = The size of the required storage space (note: storage unit conversion 1TB=1024GB;1GB=1024MB;1MB=1024KB)

50-way storage for 30 day CIF video format the required size of the storage space is:

64x3600x24x30x50÷0.9=8789.1gb≈9tb

50-way storage for 30 days D1 video format the required size of the storage space is:

192x3600x24x30x50÷0.9=.2gb≈26tb

50-way storage for 30 days of 720P (1 million megapixel) video format the required size of the recording information is:

256x3600x24x30x50÷0.9=.3gb≈35tb

50-way storage for 30 days of 1080P (2 million megapixel) video format the required size of the recording information is:

512x3600x24x30x50÷0.9=.5gb≈69tb
