You can select one or more worksheets in one workbook and enter data, edit, or format them. Usually we can only work on the currently active worksheet, but by selecting more than one worksheet, we can work with multiple worksheets in the workbook at the same time. For a selected worksheet, we can do the following:
(1) Enter a common title and formula for multiple worksheets.
(2) format the cells and ranges on the selected worksheet.
(3) Hide or delete more than one worksheet at a time.
3.4.1 Select a single worksheet
To use a worksheet, you must first move to the worksheet so that the worksheet becomes the selected worksheet, the selected sheet tab is white-bottomed, and the sheet tabs that are not selected are shaded with gray.
To select a single worksheet, change it to the active worksheet. Just click the name of the worksheet on the worksheet tab. For example, we set up a new workbook, we go to the fifth worksheet "Sheet5", and just click "Sheet5" on the worksheet tab to activate it.
3.4.2 Select more than one worksheet
We can select adjacent worksheets to make them "workgroup." You can also select nonadjacent worksheets for your workgroup to choose from.
Select an adjacent worksheet
To select an adjacent worksheet, you must click the tab of the first worksheet that you want to select, hold down the [Shift] key, and then click the tab of the last worksheet, and you will see the word "Workgroup" appear on the title bar of the active worksheet, as shown in Figure 3-28.
For selected nonadjacent worksheets, you can click the tab of the first worksheet that you want to select, hold down the [Ctrl] key, and then click the tab of the last sheet.
The [Shift] key and the [Ctrl] key can be used at the same time. That is, you can use the [Shift] key to select some adjacent worksheets, and then use the [Ctrl] key to select some other nonadjacent worksheets. After you select several worksheets, you can press the [Ctrl] key while you click the left mouse button on the sheet tab that you want to select, if you do not continue to select the worksheet.
