In the notebook programming, because the screen is too small only 14 inch, inconvenient to write and view the source code, so bought a 19-inch LCD monitor, then need to use the right mouse button "screen resolution" to display the split screen. (1) Shown:

Software: Win7
The steps are as follows:
1) Use the VGA cable to connect the notebook and 19-inch LCD monitor, the General VGA line is a 15-pin green plug, corresponding to the notebook and 19-inch monitor on the 15-pin green slot.
2) Press the Power key (also called the Power Key) on the notebook to start the Win7 system, right-click on the blank space in the desktop-"screen resolution", (2) as shown:

"Display (S): 1|2, multiple displays", indicating that there are currently two monitors, "1" represents the notebook's own 14-inch display, "2" represents a 19-inch LCD monitor connected to the VGA line.
"Resolution (R): 1280x768", indicating that the resolution of two screens is set to 12080x768, of course, this resolution can be manually adjusted.
Direction (O): landscape, generally set to landscape, indicates the horizontal expansion from the screen "1" (notebook) to the screen "2" (19 inch LCD monitor).
3) Split screen method for four common scenarios
3.1 Scene (a): Notebook as the main screen, 19-inch LCD monitor as a secondary screen, configured as follows:

3.2 Scene (ii): Cover The notebook lid, 19-inch LCD monitor as the main screen, configured as follows:

3.2.3 Setting "Show Desktop only on 2"

3.3 Scene (iii): Notebook display Desktop, 19-inch display also displays the desktop, configured as follows:
Select "Copy these displays" – "Apply –" to keep the changes, as shown in (8):

Note: If the resolution of the 19-inch LCD is higher than the resolution of the notebook, for example, the resolution of the 19-inch LCD is 1440x900 > 1366x768 (the resolution of the Notebook), then it is recommended to select the method corresponding to "Scene (ii)".
