Set up mail server with MDaemon

A mail server is a required service for a Web site. Here, we can use MDaemon software to complete the setup of the mail server.

　　1. Install MDaemon

First, download the latest version of MDaemon to http://www.altn.com/download/default.asp. Double-click the installation file to start the installation. Before installing MDaemon, uninstall or stop all of the existing mail server Software services to avoid port conflicts.

In the installation process, you first need to select a language (select Language), generally keep its default option in English (U.s.english), and then the registration information (registration information) prompt window appears. If you already have the relevant information, you can enter it as you please, otherwise, fill in any content under the user name (full name) and the user name (company name) so that you may try (Trial) the software. All the next installation options are selected by default.

When the installation is complete, the related service runs automatically, and a name "Message Router" dialog box is opened, which means that the MDaemon manager shuts it down to abort all MDaemon services.

　　2. Configure the MDaemon Mail Service

After the MDaemon is installed, its default mail host name is "Company.mail", and the email address corresponds to "username @company.amil". Now, we need to set the appropriate mail service for ourselves, that is, modify its mail host name.

In the Message Router dialog box, click the "setup→primary Domain" option, enter the main domain Settings dialog box, click the "dmain/isp" option, "Dmain name" and "HELO domain" corresponding to the box in the original " Company.mail "are modified to their own mail host names, such as Sfman.net.

Next, add the user name to your mail host. In the Message Router dialog box, right-click the Account option, and then select the Accounts Manager command to open the ID Manager dialog box. Here, click the "New" button, in the Open "Account Editor" dialog box, click on the "Client" tab, in the "Full Name" box, enter the user name, and the "Mailbox name" box is the mail user name, please enter your own mail host name, such as Sfman, and ensure that the mail host after the name "Sfman.net", and then in the "Account Password" box, enter the user password, and finally click the "OK" button. The creation of multiple users only needs to repeat the above steps.

　3. Send and receive mail in Web mode

In MDaemon, you can log in to your own mailbox through IE browser, and send and receive mail operations. It is done through the "worldclient" service, which allows users to remotely configure and manage MDaemon servers in a browser on any client side of the world (worldclient). The function of the webmail is contained therein.

Under the default installation, Worldclient is not activated, and you need to go to its installation directory and double-click "WorldClient.exe" to run it. Then, in the Message Router dialog box, right-click the "worldclient" option and select the "Toggle active/inactive" (Activate/stop) command.

Now people just enter your email server address in the browser, such as http://www.sfman.net:3000, you can see your webmail page, and then enter the user name and password, you can use the Web browser to manipulate and control their own mailboxes.

　　4. Allow users to apply for a new email account online

In the Message Router dialog box, select the "Wordldclient/relayfax" item under the SETUP option to open the Wordldclient and Relayfax Properties window and click the Options option to "Allow users to create new accounts" (allow the user to create an account) item selected, click the "OK" button to exit. Then, in the browser to enter its login interface, it will be found in the "sign" button added "Create a new Account" button, click on the online application of your new mail account.

If you do not want to allow users to apply for an account at random, you can do so when the above settings, while in the "New Account Creating password" (password to create the newly created) after the entry of any password, then when the client online application, Are prompted to enter this password before the application can be formally started.
