Macromedia Fireworks parameter selection settings allow you to control the general appearance of the user interface. In addition, Fireworks allows you to customize shortcut keys. This means that you can customize and standardize shortcut keys between your favorite software programs. Flexible use of shortcut keys can make your work more efficient, and considerate personalized feature settings can make fireworks MX interface more personalized, more in line with your job needs.
Fireworks has parameter selection settings that control the general appearance of the user interface, as well as options related to specific features such as default colors, tool options, folder locations, and file conversions. To set the parameters for the Fireworks MX, we only need to use the menu command edit (Edit)-preferences (parameter selection) ... to eject the Preferences (parameter selection) panel.
General Parameters Tab 1 in the text box after the undo step (undo number), you can set the number of times that you want to record the action steps when editing, and set the Undo/redo number to a number between 0 and 999. This setting applies to both the Edit > Undo Commands and the history panel. A large amount of undo will increase the amount of memory required for fireworks. For the changes in this setting to take effect, you must restart fireworks.
2 in the color Defaults (default color) area, you can set the default border color, fill color, and highlight path color when starting fireworks MX. They allow you to change the default color specified by the Set default stroke/Fill Color button in the Tools panel.
3 in the Drop-down box after interpolation (interpolation) you can set up one of the four different scaling methods that Fireworks use to insert pixels when setting the zoom image.
The double cubic interpolation method provides the most vivid and highest quality in most cases, and is the default scaling method.
The two-linear interpolation method is more effective than the soft interpolation method, but it is not so distinct from the double cubic interpolation method.
The soft interpolation method is used in Fireworks 1, which provides soft blur effects and eliminates sharp details. This method is useful when other methods produce extra manual traces.
The nearest adjacent area interpolation method produces a jagged edge and a sharp contrast with no blur effect. This effect is similar to using the Zoom tool to magnify or shrink the image.
4 Check Workspace (work area) after the selection box, you can show or hide the panel tabs on the graphics icon, and these icons in the early Fireworks version is visible. This option also affects the display of small initiators at the bottom of the document window.
Second, Edit Parameters tab The edit parameter selection controls the appearance of the pointer and the visual cues used to work with bitmap objects.
1 Precise (precise cursor)--Replaces tool icon pointer with a cross pointer. You can control the position of the mouse more precisely, it is very practical to draw the precise graphics.
2 Delete Object when cropping (deletes objects when trimming)------------------permanently deletes pixels or objects outside of the selection's restricted box when you select Edit > Trim document or modify > Canvas > Canvas size.
3) brush-size paining Cursors (brush size drawing cursor)--Set "brush", "a pointer to a tool such as Eraser, Blur, Sharpen, Dodge, burn, Smudge, and so on to accurately reflect what you are about to draw or erase. For some larger brushes with multiple nib, the default is a cross pointer. When this option and the precise cursor are closed, the tool icon pointer is displayed.
4 Display striped Border (show striped border) in the bitmap option area-places a common striped border around the entire canvas when you work with bitmap objects (bitmap mode).
5) Show pen Preview in the Pen Tool option area (display pen preview)--Provides a preview of the next path segment that will be created when you click with the Pen tool.
6 Show Solid point (display solid dots)--Displays the selected control points as hollow and displays unchecked control points as solid.
7) Turn off:hide Edges "(Close hidden edges)-automatically disables hidden edges when the selection changes.
8 in the text box after the pick in the pointer Tool option area, you can set how close the pointer must be to the object before you select the object. The selection distance can be between 1 and 10 pixels.
9 The text box after the snap can specify how close the moved object must be to the grid or the guide line to align with it. The alignment distance is valid when Snap to Grid or Snap to guide is turned on. The alignment distance can be between 1 and 10 pixels.
Start and Edit Parameters tab You can control how external applications, such as Macromedia Flash, Macromedia Director, and Microsoft FrontPage, start and edit graphics in Fireworks by setting up and editing parameter selections.
In most cases, Fireworks tries to find the source PNG file of the graphic by its own power. When the source PNG cannot be found, Fireworks uses the startup and edit parameter selections that you set to determine how to work with the source PNG file lookup.
Note: Macromedia Flash is a special case. When you start and edit graphics in Flash, Fireworks always uses the parameter selections that you set in the Start and edit section of the Parameter selection dialog box.
Four, folder Parameters tab The folder parameter selection provides you with access to other Photoshop plug-ins, texture files, and pattern files from external sources. In addition, on Mac OS 9.x, you can also specify where you want Fireworks to store temporary cache files.
1 Click the browse after Photoshop plug-in ... (browse) button to open the selector to determine the location of the Photoshop filter so that we can use the Photoshop filter in Fireworks MX. The Photoshop filter appears in the Filters menu of Fireworks and in the Add Effects menu of the property Inspector.
2) Click on the browse after textures ... (browse) button to set the position of the material picture. Textures or patterns stored in PNG, JPEG, and GIF file formats appear as options in the pattern and texture pop-up menus of the property inspector.
3) Click on the browse after patterns ... (browse) button to set the location of the pattern, and the textures or patterns stored in PNG, JPEG, and GIF file formats appear as options in the pattern and texture pop-up menus of the property inspector.
v. Import Parameters tab The selection of parameters in the Import tab enables you to manage Photoshop file conversions.
You can convert a layer to an object or to a new frame.
You can choose whether to edit the imported text or to maintain its appearance.
You can import the Photoshop file as a tiled bitmap object.
After completing the above setup, you will find that your firewroks is more convenient and easy to use.
