In the Windows 7 operating system, sounds are played when certain events occur. An event can be an action performed by a user, such as logging on to a computer, or an action performed by a computer, such as an alert when a new e-mail message is received. Windows comes with a variety of sound scenarios for common events. In addition, some desktop themes also have their own sound schemes.
The specific steps for customizing the sound are as follows.
(1) Right-click in the blank space of the desktop, select the "Personalize" menu command from the shortcut menu.
(2) Pop the "Change visual effects and sounds on your computer" window and select the sound option.
