Windows 2003 Standard Edition, Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition, Windows XP Professional, Windows $ Server, Windows Ad vanced Server and the default installation of Windows Professional are all with IIS.    IIS is not installed by default during the installation of the system, and IIS can be installed by adding a remove program after the system has completed installation. IIS is a set of integrated system components for WEB, FTP, and SMTP servers launched by Microsoft, bundled in the above NT core server systems. This article provides FTP services to the Internet through Windows2003 IIS components with Gnway g Dynamic Domain name resolution software.

First step: Install the FTP component in Windows 2003 IIS

In the Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel--windows Component Wizard-Application Server--internet Information Services (IIS), select File Transfer Protocol (FTP) service. Such as:

After you select the services that you want to install, the Setup Wizard prompts you to insert the Windows 2003 installation disc, and you insert the installation disk as prompted to install it, and FTP in IIS is automatically installed soon.

Step Two: Configure the FTP server

Open the program-Administrative Tools--internet Information Services (IIS) Manager--ftp site (or you can enter inetmgr into the manager in the run).

In the IIS FTP component, each FTP site can only correspond to one port, and only one global directory per site.    The order of permissions can be understood as the site >= virtual path, and if you need to establish an anonymous access FTP service and an FTP service that requires authentication, you need to establish two sites, using two different ports. First we set up a need to authenticate the FTP site, so that the Internet access to FTP service requires authentication to connect with the FTP server to obtain trust. Access to Programs-management tools-Computer Management-Local Users and groups-users. Create a new user Aamm here, do not need to give any permissions, established after the completion of the user process.

Access Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager default FTP Site properties

Do not select Allow anonymous connections in the security account, or anyone can connect to your global directory via FTP. The FTP Site directory in the home directory is selected to the parent directory of the external service file directory, and if you do not want to have write access to the child sites under this site, write permissions do not need to be selected. If there is a subweb under this site that requires write access, then the global site FTP permission must be written, and if you feel insecure, you can transfer the FTP directory data to an empty partition or subordinate directory. For example, if the Aamm account corresponds to the D:\aamm directory, the FTP global site directory must be d:\.

Now, the FTP service interface has been served to the Internet, but actually no user can access the resources from your FTP. We need to map the Aamm user we just created to the FTP directory. Before a lot of friends asked, why Microsoft FTP can not set the location of the account, can only be set to anonymous or non-anonymous?    Actually, it's possible, but it needs a little bit of a trick. Right-click FTP Default Site--new--Virtual directory--virtual directory alias input aamm--select Aamm corresponding access directory and give permissions--complete the virtual directory alias is the user login name, corresponding to the user table user. We can set up FTP user through the system to correspond to the FTP sub-site Directory of different sites. Of course, a user can correspond to multiple paths, which we need to use the FSO permission to control.

Below we can start testing the FTP server.
Testing is performed during testing to facilitate the use of Windows 2003-brought FTP commands.

Test success
