Method 1: drag a file between a physical machine and a virtual machine

This is needless to say, but it should be noted that in some cases, dragging may cause errors. When using vmware workstation 6 to drag a file/folder to the virtual machine, the full path name of the source file/source folder (and its subfolders) on the physical machine cannot contain non-standard ASCII characters. That is to say, the full path name of the full path/source folder (and its subfolders) of the source file can only be English characters, and an error will be reported if there are Chinese characters. Several times of dragging may cause the explorer process of the virtual machine to fail or report the third request below. At this time, you cannot drag or copy anything to the virtual machine. Restart guest and you cannot drag or copy it. You must disable the VM before enabling it.
If the full path name of the source folder (and its subfolders) contains non-standard ASCII characters, the system will prompt:"
Cannot scan local directory. You may not have permission to perform the operation. Aborting the file copy operation.

(Meaning: The local directory cannot be opened. You may not have the permission to perform this operation and exit abnormally during copy)

If the full path name of the source file contains non-standard ASCII characters, the following message is displayed:
Cannot determine local file size. You may not have permission to perform the operation. Aborting the file copy operation.

 

(Meaning: the size of the target file cannot be checked. You may not have the permission to perform this operation and exit abnormally when copying the file)

 

This prompt is sometimes displayed when you drag multiple times:

 

Cannot creat diretctory on Virtual Machine. Aborting the drag and drop operation.

 

(This means that you cannot create a directory on the VM. Unexpectedly exits during the drag operation)

Method 2: Use VmwareShared Folder on

Open the VM, click "Edit Virtual Machine Settings", and select "Shared Folders" in "options" to select the always enables option on the right, as shown in the figure:
