1. Generally, the NTFS disk format is FAT32, And the Partition Magic tool is often used.
Note:
1. Transfer the original data to another partition and copy it back after formatting;
2. In the formatting window, select "FAT32" as the formatting type ".
In fact, it can be used without it, and the speed is faster and the security is higher.
2. Hard Disk Partition Table restoration method
The format of the four partitions is stored in the lc2h, ld2h, le2h, and leeh locations of the hard disk partition table, therefore, you can use tools such as KV3000 and Disk Cenius to back up and restore the hard Disk partition table (Note: You must back up the hard Disk partition table before FAT32 is converted to NTFS format ). The procedure is as follows:
KV3000 backup and recovery
Backup in FAT32 format. Boot The KV3000 key disk to the system, type KV3000/B, press enter, insert a clean floppy disk, Press Y, and copy hdpt. dat to the disk partition table immediately. To restore NTFS to FAT32 format, boot the KV3000 key disk to the system, type KV3000/hdpt. dat, press enter, and restore the partition table information to the hard disk. Restart the disk to format it.
Disk Genius backup and recovery
Run Disk Genius and select "backup partition table" under the "Tools" menu. The "backup to file" dialog box is displayed, enter the backup file name and path in the "Enter file name" Column (the default path is a floppy disk, which can be changed to another path. do not modify the file name, especially the file name suffix ), OK. Exit. To convert NTFS to the FAT/FAT32 format, you must use the DOS floppy Disk to boot the system to restore the partition table, enter the Disk Cenius directory, type Mouse.com, and press enter to load the mouse driver for easy operation, type Diskgen and press enter to go to the Disk Genius graphical program interface. Select "Restore Partition Table" under the "Tools" menu, in the "Recover Partition Table from backup" window, enter the file name and path of the backup in the "Enter file name" column. Save the disk, exit, and restart formatting.
The above two methods are fast to convert, but first, you must back up the hard disk partition table before converting FAT32 to the NTFS format. Second, before backing up and converting, you need to transfer data from the partitioned table to another place to ensure security!
3. CD Conversion Method for Win2000/XP installation
Use the Win2000 installation CD to completely install Win2000. During the installation process, select the NTFS partition and select "format" and "format with FAT32". After completing this step, forcibly exit the installer and restart the system, the partition is already in the FAT format (if the partition is larger than 2 GB, it is in the FAT32 format ).
At last, I would like to emphasize that before the partition is converted, we must back up important data for Speed considerations and for data security considerations on the hard disk during conversion!
