What is the most popular browser when you use a computer to browse the Web without using a Web browser? Analytics company NET applications published October browser market share statistics, with Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 being the most popular web browser.

Internet Explorer has been keeping the browser market share top of the head. Internet Explorer 8, which is the default browser in Windows 7, has a market share of 22.2% this September, but with the release of Windows 10 Technology Preview and the discontinuation of some Windows 7, this October has been lowered to 17.31%.

In contrast, the relatively new Internet Explorer 11 market share has been significantly boosted from 17.13% in September to 24.05% this year.

In other browsers, Internet Explorer 9 's market share dropped from 9.34% to 8.68%, while Internet Explorer 10 's market share rose from 5.58% to 6.09%. Looking at Microsoft's rival browser, the recently released Chrome V38 now has a 6.75% market share, while V37 occupies 6.4% of the market. Firefox V32 market share increased from 5.94% to 7.76%.
