According to the blog of TechCrunch, a famous U. S. Blog, Google has invested about $1 million in the Maxthon Browser. The blogger believes that this is part of the greater strategic cooperation between the two sides.
According to this blog, The Maxthon Browser has downloaded 80 million times, more than half of which occurred in China.
They believe that the transaction was completed at least two months ago, but neither of them was publicly announced.
In this regard, Sohu IT immediately called the parties and both parties did not comment on the rumors. The Maxthon public relations department said they did not know about the matter.
According to TechCrunch, the default search for Maxthon browsers is baidu. After this transaction, Maxthon's default browser may become Google. Of course, this blog also believes that transactions between the two sides should not be limited to the default search field, but may be extended to other fields.
In addition, Maxthon received only less than $6 million in funding before Google's capital injection. In March 2005, Morten Lund and WI Harper invested angel money in Aoyou. In March 2006, CRV invested about $5 million.
