Share the msdn download tool (word/PDF)

I will share with you a recently released msdn to word/pdf converter. I have used it to convert the msdn chapters such as WPF, vspackage, and WWF to PDF.

Introduction

Currently, msdn has done a very good job, and its chapters are very clear, from getting started to mastering all levels. I often think of msdn as a systematic learning book. Sometimes, I especially want to download msdn, convert it to PDF, and put it on a tablet.

Recently, I was eager to study the use of vs-package, so I spent the whole night writing this converter.

Software function description:

Download allArticleTo read text and images in the content. After reading the file, convert it to a Word file and generate the corresponding directory. (With the word file, word 2010 can export it to other formats such as PDF .)

Usage requirements

To use this software, you must install. net4.0 and office software. Since I use office 2010, I have not tried any earlier versions.

 

Usage

For example, I want to convert all the content in Windows workflow fundation in msdn to PDF.

Procedure

2. Open the msdn page you want to download and view the page ID. For example, the ID is dd489441.

4. Edit configuration file

   Open msdnconverter.exe. config and edit the following Configuration:
   <Configuration>
   <Deleetask>
   <Add key = "rootid" value = "dd489441"/>
   <Add key = "excludesubidlist" value = "dd483375, dd489447"/>
   </Appsettings>
   </Configuration>

6. Set the page ID "rootid" to dd489441 above.

   Sometimes, you don't want to download some sub-chapters, such as descriptions of a large number of types of APIs. You can add the sub-chapter identifiers you do not want to download to the "excludesubidlist" configuration and separate them with commas.

8. Run the software.

   Click Enter to start automatic operation ......

   First download the directory structure of the entire book ......

   After the directory is downloaded, the text of each article is downloaded:

   The text and image will be downloadedProgramThe corresponding folder is cached. Prevents repeated downloads from being interrupted.

   After the text and image are downloaded, the program opens word and begins to output the content to the Word document. In the conversion process, opening the word is only convenient for viewing. Do not manually edit the Word document. Otherwise, the conversion will be affected.

10. Output complete

    After the conversion, the program generates a directory and navigation for the entire document. Save it as word or PDF. :)

Conclusion

Currently, the software version is 1.3, and some problems remain unsolved. For example, tables, lists, and many styles are not recognized. These two days are relatively lazy. I can see them anyway. I will try again later.
