Greg Kroah-hartman, a highly respected Linux Kernel maintenance engineer, today launched the first maintenance version of the Linux Kernel 4.8 branch.
Greg Kroah-hartman said: "I am now releasing the Linux Kernel 4.8.1 kernel, all 4.8 branch users must complete the upgrade as soon as possible.
Earlier, we reported that Linus Torvalds apologized for the bug in the official version of the Linux 4.8 kernel, and this issue was fixed in the latest version 4.8.1. The user-welcomed Ubuntu 16.10 system will be launched on October 13, and the system is based on the Linux 4.8 kernel branch.
