    • Basic usage

As a series of articles about SLK, from the perspective of end users, the two starting points in the previous sections are somewhat higher. Therefore, I decided to add this article. We hope that the overall learning curve of this series will be smoother.
The SLK source package contains an article on how to start. For more details, see.

Deployment Solution

1. Download The SLK installation package from codeplex and decompress it.
2. Enter the command prompt and run addsolution. cmd.
3. Run deploysolution. cmd.
To check whether the deployment is successful, we can continue to execute enumsolutions. cmd
The returned information is in XML format. lastoperationresult indicates whether the deployment is successful (deploymentsucceeded ). The deployment process takes some time, but does not take a long time.

Configure SharePoint learning kit

Next we need to configure SLK for the first time:
1. Open the SharePoint 3.0 management center.
2. Enter the applicationProgramManage tags. You will find that a menu item of SharePoint learning kit configuration is added at the bottom of the page. Click "Configure SharePoint learning kit" To Go To The SLK configuration page.
Check the website set first. Do not select the website set where the management center is located. You can use the selector to change the value. Check the web application and change it through the selector. Based on the above selection, select the appropriate website set to implement the SLK.
3. Verify the database server address and database name.
4. Click OK and use the default settings for others.

If any SQL errors occur, check the database permissions.

Enable alwp (SharePoint learning kit assignment list web part)

1. Open the SharePoint top-level site of the website set you just set
2. Click "website operations"-"website Settings"-"modify all website Settings", and find the Web parts library under the "library" menu.
3. Click "new", select Microsoft. sharepointlearningkit. webparts. assignmentlistwebpart, and click "import to Database" at the top of the page.
4. Edit the attributes of assignmentlistwebpart. webpart and change the title to my course.

5. Click "OK" to apply the changes.

All SLK configurations are complete!

Basic usage

The following describes how to use the SharePoint learning kit through some operation steps. Although it takes a long time to fully understand the SLK, the first thing to do is to start using it. I will explain how to create a learning organization site, set up an instructor (SLK instructor) and some learner (SLK learner), and assign a learning content through the instructor, then, log on to the learner to learn from it.

Create user

If your Sharepoint is deployed on a single machine and has no active directory (AD), you need to create the desired user in the Local Computer Management. If ad exists, create it in the Active Directory user and computer. Here, we create three users named:

    1. Student1
    2. Student2
    3. Teacher
Create a Learning Group Site
    1. Click "website operations"-"create Website" under any website to create a new workgroup website.
      Title: Study Group
      URL: Learning
User permission: use the same permissions as the parent website
      Click create.
    2. Skip the next step to set the navigation page and go to the newly created site.
    3. Open the website settings-website function page under the website management menu, and activate SharePoint learning kit
    4. Return to "website Settings" to go to the "advanced Permissions" page under the user and permission menu.
    5. Click "operation"-"manage parent Permissions"
    6. Click "new"-"Add User": student1; student2
Grant permissions directly, and then select "read" and "SLK Learner" permissions. Click OK.
    7. Click "new"-"Add User": Teacher
Grant permissions directly, and then select "participate in discussion" and "SLK instructor" permissions. Click OK.
Add a Web part for my courses

1. Return to the created learning group site and select website operations-Edit page
2. Click "add Web part ".
3. Select the "my courses" Web part under miscellaneous and click Add.
4. Click exit edit in the upper-right corner of the page.

Enable version history of the Document Library

To store the uploaded learning content, you must first enable version history. Otherwise, you may encounter many unpredictable problems.
1. Click SHARE document. Here I will rename this document library as a learning resource library.
2. Go to the document library settings in the settings
3. There is a version control setting under the general settings.
4. Select create major version and click OK.

Assign a learning task

Return to the document library and upload a learning content. Upload a Courseware in SCORM 2004 format. There is a solitaire sample Courseware in the SLK source code package. You can package it in ZIP format. You can also upload a Word document as the learning content for the following assignment.
1. log on to SharePoint using the previously created instructor account
2. Go to the document library above.
3. Upload a Courseware
4. Click the courseware drop-down menu and select e-learning actions. Click "current site )"
5. Enter the full score and end date that the learner can earn.
6. Select all learners at the bottom of the page
7. Click OK.
8. Click "navigate to site: learning"

In this way, you can see the assignment created just now in the "my courses" Web part.
At the same time, we can also see how many learners have submitted their learning tasks. Now, of course, they are 0.

Students complete Learning Tasks
    1. Log on to SharePoint using a previously created learner account
    2. Go to the Learning Group Site
    3. The learner can see the learning content specified by the instructor. Click the courseware name, and then click begin assignment to start learning.
    4. The courseware or document uploaded by the instructor will be opened. You can close or re-open it at any time to continue learning.
Close the course content and return to the course page. The page will change.
    5. If you have finished learning SCORM courseware, you can submit the courseware on the learning page. You can also click submit in the toolbar of the course page. The submitted learning content cannot be viewed by learners before being reviewed by instructors.
    6. If the learning content is a document, "Submit file (s)" will appear, and the learner can submit the homework according to the instructor's requirements. This will be reflected in the "my courses" Web part.
The learner uploads a homework named answer1.doc.
Click OK and a success prompt is displayed: the assignment file (s) submission was completed successfully.

Repeat the preceding steps to complete others' learning.

Grade learner's homework
    1. Log on to SharePoint again with the instructor's account
    2. Go to the Learning Group Site
    3. Click the title of the specified content
    4. For documents, instructors can click the "submitted" link to view assignments handed in by learners.
For SCORM courseware, instructors only need to modify the courseware according to the automatic score.
For some students who have not submitted the course yet, instructors can click "collect" or "collect all" to forcibly change the course status to "Submit ". Even if some people haven't started learning, or even half of them have learned, they will no longer be allowed to continue learning. As prompted at this time, collecting assignments will prevent learners from continuing to work on them.
    5. Instructors can rate the learning status of each learner, and then select "return"
    6. In this way, after you click "save", the graded learning content will be sent back to the learner. Click Close to close the page.
Learner view results
    1. Log on to SharePoint as a learner and go to the Learning Group site.
    2. Click the returned tab of the "my courses" Web part.
    3. Click the title of the learning content
    4. Here, the learner can see the score and instructor comments of this study. You can also click "Review" on the toolbar to review the content.
