While using SharePoint, many companies encounter documents that cannot be uploaded in the site collection, but company employees also ask for the requirement that these restricted types of documents be managed in the SharePoint document library.
Faced with this problem, IT managers need to consider how to meet the needs of users. We can actually do this by modifying the settings of the Web application, as follows: Log in to SharePoint Central Administration-> application management-> Web Applications-> Manage Web applications;
Select the Web application where you want to modify the site collection, click Robbins above the blocked File Types;
The pop-up "Blocked file Types" window shows the file types that are restricted to SharePoint, depending on the type of file that the user needs to support, find the corresponding type, and click OK to save the settings.
Open Site Collection Library, click New Document upload this type of documents, upload success.
The above is the way to implement the settings for uploading restricted document types in SharePoint, thanks for reading.
