Escape: a backslash (\) is placed before a character that needs to be escaped, indicating that the character is to be treated as a normal character.

The escape character is occasionally used when using sed awk

For example, I insert a string from line 8th to line 10th in a file, using the \ n parameter.

Common escape characters

Is the beginning of the English alphabet: \ n indicates a new row \ R indicates a carriage return \ t indicates a horizontal tab \v represents a vertical tab \b represents a backward character \a means "warning" (beep or flashing) \0xx translates to a character represented by an ASCII code of octal 0xx
