Simple comparison of Google Maps, Baidu maps, and sousuo maps

A few days ago, the project used network maps, mainly Baidu maps and search maps, or sogou maps and Google Maps. The search scope is mainly in Beijing urban areas, and a bit is used in the suburbs. The advantages and disadvantages are summarized as follows:

1. Google Maps: Google's services in China have basically stopped, so maps are also affected. I think the most affected is the update of place names. Google's images and services are not doing well, however, since I have not obtained the qualification for surveying and mapping, the latest data is not available, and the loading speed is slow (Baidu search can be loaded at the same speed), I basically don't need to use it this time. However, when searching in the suburbs, it is very useful to see images. It is also useful to remember the previous search content.

If Google Earth is available, it can be used in combination. It is useful for someone to upload so many photos. And ge has a web version, you can try it.

2. Baidu map:

Baidu searches for a single item, and there is very little extended search, that is, there will be no other content next to it. This item is still quite concise when it can be searched. If it cannot be searched, there will be no way, I usually go to the search and then search, a small part of which can be found. Baidu and sousuo's place names should have their own merits. They can be used together when Google fails.

Baidu's 3D model is 2.5, false 3D, and in big cities, Baidu seems to have some real scenes, which are basically point-like.

The images are mainly urban areas, which can be regarded as none if they are out of urban areas.

When I gave up Google, I basically used him to search for the route. You can do it, that is, there is only one less walk, and there is only a car and a bus.

3 search for a map:

Last year, sousearch provided street views for six major cities and several scenic spots. If you cannot find a street view, you can try it. When searching, you can provide some reference based on the GPS location of the Weibo posts, which is good.

The search for place names can be complementary to those of the hundred degrees. Some place names can be supplemented when the street view is collected, which is good. However, when you zoom in, the last level will automatically go to the street view and click it. It's not a habit to start using it. Right-click it or click esc.

There is no 3D search. By the way, it is really difficult to search for a route. It is too likely to reselect the starting point (compared with Baidu ).

4. sogou Map

It is quite difficult to search the location name. If you zoom in to a point and search again, the prompt is no longer displayed. The default search is in the view. Of course, it can be set, but the experience is poor.

There are too many associated searches and they are uncomfortable to use.

3D is 2.5, which is larger than Baidu. Images are available in the surrounding counties of Beijing, and in rural areas.

Summary:

Place Name: Baidu is used for place name search. It can only be searched when it cannot be found. Search has an extended search that can find something, And the GPS address of Weibo users, I can mine some more, but I can't. in the urban area, I can see the street view, only beside the road. Sogou's search is really poor and hard to find. The extended search mentioned above has been used, but it feels bad.

I thought that as a data provider, autonavi should have more place names. After a simple look, it is similar to Baidu sousuo.

In my own experience, the data provided by data providers is generally not very problematic in urban areas. However, in remote areas, the data should all come from the old map in 1980s. Many errors are still very obvious, not changed.
