Simple configuration of ASM
Environment Description
System: Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.4 (Tikanga)
Database Version: Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 add Disk
Add three hard disks for the ASM disk group:
It is best to make the three disks as large as they are, which may easily lead to hot spot competition during redundancy, increase the disk I/O, and affect performance.
Restart the system. Format: Disk
Install Oracle 11gR2 (x64) in CentOS 6.4)
Steps for installing Oracle 11gR2 in vmwarevm
Install Oracle 11g XE R2 In Debian
Oracle 11g from entry to proficient in PDF + CD source code
Installing Oracle 11g R2 using RHEL6 ASM
Oracle 10g manual creation of the ASM Database
Oracle 10g R2 create ASM instance Step By Step
After the system is started, fdisk-l is used to view the attached disk. fdisk/dev/sdb is used to format the sdb.
[Root @ localhost ~] # Fdisk/dev/sdb
Device contains neither a valid DOS partition table, nor Sun, SGI or OSF disklabel
Building a new DOS disklabel. Changes will remain in memory only,
Until you decide to write them. After that, of course, the previous
Content won't be recoverable.
The number of cylinders for this disk is set to 1044.
There is nothing wrong with that, but this is larger than 1024,
And coshould in certain setups cause problems:
1) software that runs at boot time (e.g., old versions of LILO)
2) booting and partitioning software from other OSs
(E.g., dos fdisk, OS/2 FDISK)
Warning: invalid flag 0x0000 of partition table 4 will be corrected by w (rite)
