Don't let repetitive tasks consume your creativity. Let's explain how to make Photoshop more convenient and easy to use by creating the appropriate steps for your own operation.
As a Photoshop user, you may encounter situations where you have to do repetitive tasks, such as resizing pictures, creating illustrations, or anything else. Manual completion can be time-consuming, and thankfully, there is a simpler way to do this: when you manipulate Photoshop, the software logs a repetitive process, saves the information as an action, and then uses the action in other tasks. Not only that, you can edit the actions and personalize them to suit your own usage needs.
1. Open the Operator panel
When you open the Photoshop cc operator panel you will see an interface where all the actions are immediately available.
Before you start recording actions, it is a good idea to turn off the default settings and create a new group with your own name.
Click the icon in the upper-right corner of the operator panel. When a new window pops up, select the new setting immediately in the dialog box and enter your name, then click OK to save it.
A new setting with your name appears.
2. Record operation
It is easy to record an operation. Just click on the icon in the upper right-hand corner of the operator panel and click New in the pop-up menu.
In the New Action dialog box, enter the name of your operation and click Record.
The operator panel will record all of your actions.
You will find that creating an action is the process of achieving the desired effect through experimentation. To end the record, click the End button.
3. Demo
Demos have different ways to choose from. Click on the Operator panel icon in the upper right corner and click on the Play option in the pop-up menu. In the Pop-up Options dialog box, there are three options: accelerated, Normal, paused.
If the accelerator button speeds up playback. It is worth noting that, if you choose to accelerate, you may not know what the software does to the files you need to work with. To learn more, choose normal playback.
Pausing allows you to think for a short interval of time at different operational action times. If you encounter a problem, you can also debug.
4. Management and editing
You can take an action record and apply it to other images. Another way to apply actions is to open File > > Bulk Automation.
Notice the three important dropdown triangles at the top of the dialog box. Setting a title refers to an action that has already been recorded. In this case, there are options for the default settings.
Next to the title is a different action option where you can select the action you want to take. The third dropdown is the source of the image, which may be a folder, import an image, open a file or bridge.
5. Optimize
Plan the steps first before you record the action. If necessary, write down all the steps on a piece of paper before you start. Although it can be edited after the operation, it is helpful to make good use of the time by planning the steps in favor of solving the possible problems before recording.
Keep a log of all the steps in case you need to make a change.
Attention matters
The following actions can be recorded: marquee, mobile, polygon, lasso, magic wand, cropping, slicing, magic eraser, gradient, paint bucket, text, shape, notes, eyedropper, color Sampler tool. You can also record the history of steps, swatches, colors, paths, channels, layer styles and operator panels.
Note that your results will depend on your settings. For example, you would use a Gaussian blur in a PPI file in a PPI file, and there would be a completely different effect. So it is particularly important to follow up on every action.
You can use an insert to record a path, paste in Photoshop or from Adobe Illustrator.
You can insert stops in one operation to complete a new task, and this task is not logged, such as using a painting tool. When you finish the task, click the Play button again to complete the operation.
Using the Stop button, you can think about what you need to supplement and refine your current operations before proceeding to the next step.
The commands and tools that cannot be logged are: Painting and palette tools, tool options, view commands, command windows.
Conclusion
In this brief exploration, it is easy to see the value of creating an operation command that helps you save time and eliminates many tedious repetitive tasks.
