The author of the Internet, IE will always have pop-up windows appear, even if IE closed, can not be eliminated. It turned out to be brought by the advertising system of FlashGet (Internet Express). FlashGet's ad system consists of two parts: a banner ad in the FlashGet program window and a random pop-up ad. Before version 1.6, installation of FlashGet will also install a flashget advertising software, the adware has a certain self-protection function, can not be unloaded separately. After version 1.6, adware is directly integrated into the FlashGet software, and when the freeware mode is selected when installing FlashGet, the advertising software begins to work. Once you use FlashGet to download the software, the ad system will automatically download the content of the advertisement through the Internet and pop the advertisement window onto the user's desktop.
I. The principle of advertising shielding
If we want to remove these ads, we must first know the principle of shielding advertising. That is, the use of NTFS security management permissions, the folder to store ads to protect, prohibit any program access to the folder, resulting in new advertising content can not download, save, so as to achieve the purpose of shielding ads display.
second, how to screen ads
Now look at how to specifically screen the ads. The following steps explain:
1. Determine the location of the folder where FlashGet ads are stored. The location of the folder where the FlashGet ads are stored varies with the flashget version, typically two locations:
(1) The Adcache subfolder under the System32 folder of the system folder (generally in Windows XP: C:windowssystem32adcache).
(2) The Ads subfolder under the FlashGet installation folder (typically in Windows XP: C:Program filesflashgetads). This folder is not created by the installer when the software is installed, but is automatically created when the advertisement is first downloaded.
2. Exit FlashGet and delete all files and subfolders under the Ad folder.
3. Right-click on the Advertisement folder and open the Properties Settings window for the subfolder by clicking Properties on the shortcut menu. Click the Security tab (Figure 1) to delete all users in the group or user name or to deny all permissions for all users. Click the Advanced button to clear the inherit from parent the permission entries that can be applied to child objects, including those explicitly defined here (Figure 2). In the Security dialog box that appears later, click the Delete button. After exiting, everyone will not be able to access the Ad subfolder.

Do the same for other ad folders in turn. In the end it will be able to achieve the shielding of flashget ads.
This method restricts: applies only to operating systems such as Windows 2000 or Windows XP and requires the partition format to be NTFS.
Attention:
Sometimes there are no "security" tags in the folder properties in some operating systems, which can be resolved using Windows XP Pro: Perform control panel → admin tools → local security settings, expand security settings → Local policies → security options, navigate to the "Network access, sharing and security mode for local accounts" item, change the settings to "classic-Local users Authenticate yourself" and exit.
