Google recently announced the launch of the 2005 Global programming competition "Google Code Jam 2005. Google's global programming competition is held every year. Computer enthusiasts can register online and select their preferred programming language to solve a series of challenging problems raised by Google and use their programming technology to generate encoding solutions. Google's vice president of engineering, Alan Eustace, said: "The Google programming competition aims to gather top computer talents around the world and demonstrate their talent in solving problems. Google is proud to welcome these amazing talents. We will provide them with opportunities to join Google R & D centers around the world, such as China, Brazil, Japan, Europe, and India ."
The qualifying round will start on July 15, August 22, and 100 contestants will enter the finals. They will be invited to the Google headquarters in Mountain View City, California for the finals in September 23. All finalists can share their $0.155 million prize. Among them, the grand prize winner has a prize of $10 thousand, $ 2nd for 10th to 5000 people, $2500 for 11 to 25 people, and $1000 for 26 to 50 people, from 51 to 100, you can get $750.
The Google programming competition is supported by TopCoder, a leading provider of professional online programming solutions, technical evaluation, and software development. Last year, more than 100 contestants from more than 7500 countries participated in the programming competition. Sergio Sancho from Argentina won the 2004 championship.
