Smokping Network monitoring Tool installation configuration in Ubuntu system

System: Ubuntu 12.04

1. Installation tools and Dependency packages

sudo apt-get install smokeping curl Libauthen-radius-perl Libnet-ldap-perl Libnet-dns-perl Libio-socket-ssl-perl Libnet-telnet-perl Libsocket6-perl Libio-socket-inet6-perl apache2

2. Direct start:

[Email protected]:/etc/smokeping$ sudo/etc/init.d/smokeping Start

* Starting Latency Logger daemon smokeping ERROR:/etc/smokeping/config.d/pathnames, line 1 : File '/usr/sbin/sendmail ' does not exist

Restart unsuccessful, read the wrong message, because smokeping with the function of sending mail, but not installed, so installation can

[Email protected]:/etc/smokeping$ sudo apt-get install SendMail

[Email protected]:/etc/smokeping$ sudo/etc/init.d/smokeping Start

* Starting Latency Logger daemon smokeping [OK]

After the installation of apt in Ubuntu System, the HTTP service automatically restarts and opens the http://IP/cgi-bin/smokeping.cgi in the browser.
