Social network analysis method
Social networks are a collection of social actors and their relationships, and actors can be individuals, groups, organizations and even countries. Relationships are multifaceted and have multiple types. A network of actors from within a group is called a 1-mode network; A network of two groups of actors is called a 2-mode network; A group of actors involved in multiple social groups is called the affiliation net.
Because the relational data do not meet the conventional statistical significance of the "independent hypothesis of variables", therefore, the general meaning of the various multivariate statistical methods can not be used to analyze relational data. The social network analysis is precisely the relational data. The social network analysis method has its originality in ontology, epistemology, methodology and specific research methods, which is one of the important reasons that the network analysis has been widely concerned in the academic circle. The content of social network analysis includes individual network research, two-party relationship, tripartite relationship, cohesion subgroup, block model, etc. The research methods include graph theory and matrix method.
Individual network is concerned about "ego", the whole network is concerned with the structure of the whole net, there is an intermediary network between them, which can be defined as LAN. If these networks are combined and based on different standards, then "relational networks" can be categorized into multiple types.
