Note: This is a post reposted from the vision Forum ycjcn. You can click here to view the original article without burning a dmg cd. you can install Mac OS X snow leopard 10.6 on Vmware.
Supplement: 1. The content of this article has been successfully installed in Windows Vista + vmware workstation 7.0 + Mac OS X snow leopard 10.6!
2. If you cannot see the DMG file while browsing the image file in the virtual machine, you need to click browse to change the file type CD-ROM images (*. ISO) to all files (*.*).
3. read carefully the section marked in bold Chinese. Ignoring these sections will cause installation failure.
There are two ways to install Mac OS x on a PC. One is to partition the Mac OS x on the hard disk, and the other is to install the Mac OS X on the existing Windows System Using Virtual Machine software such as VMware. The two installation methods are introduced on the Internet, but the second method generally needs to burn the DMG disc image file of the Apple system to the D9 disc, which not only makes it difficult for students who have no burning conditions, even if I have a burning condition, I am also in trouble. Today, I will introduce here that when using VMware to install Mac OS X, you do not need to burn D9 discs and do not convert them to the ISO format, directly use the DMG image file of Mac OS X for installation.
Installation required:
Hardware: a PC with a 64-bit dual-core processor supporting virtual technology and 2 GB memory or above.
Software: VMware Workstation 7.0
Dmg cd image file: Apple OS-snow leopard 10.6
Darwin300
Darwin300Darwin300.rar (52 K) download times: 65595 or rebel EFI
Rebel EFIRebel efi.rar (55 K) Downloads: 45282 boot disc ISO image files
First install vmware workstation 7.0. Use File-> New-> Virtual Machine to create a virtual machine. Select other-> FreeBSD 64-bit when selecting the operating system.
The CPU can be set to 1-core or 2-core. If you are a dual-core CPU, we recommend that you allocate 1 core. The memory is recommended to be set to 1024 MB, if your physical memory is large enough, you can allocate more. If your hard disk is at least 15 GB, you cannot install it if it is too small. If you want to install more software, we recommend that you allocate more. In the last step, you can delete the soft drive in the Customize hardware option, because this cannot be used.
After creation, you need to find a virtual machine with the extension. vmx file, open with notepad, find guestos = "freebsd-64" line, change the freebsd-64 In the quotes to darwin10, change to guestos = "darwin10", save the modified file.
In this step, the operating system version is displayed as Mac OS X Server 10.6 under options-> General options of the virtual machine, as shown in. If it is still displayed as FreeBSD 64-bit, you need to restart VMware.
If you cannot run the Mac OS X installer described later, it is likely that this step is ignored or the modification is incorrect.
Next we will start to install. The first step of installation is to use the Darwin. ISO or rebel EFI. ISO image for boot. Load the image file first: select the CD/DVD (IDE) device from the Virtual Machine Settings> hardware created just now, select the use ISO image file on the right, and click browse to load Darwin. ISO or rebel EFI. ISO.
After the image file is loaded, start the VM.
The following figure shows how to use the rebel EFI image to start the instance:
Follow the on-screen prompts to wait for 10 seconds or press the '1' key to select the current disc drive. The interface shown in is displayed:
We are prompted to insert the Mac OS X DVD.
In this case, open the settings of the Virtual Machine-> hardware and find the CD/DVD (IDE) device (you can double-click the light disk icon in the lower right corner of the VMware window to quickly open it ,), replace the rebel EFI image with the DMG image of the Apple system; Click Browse to replace the file type CD-ROM images (*. ISO) to all files (*. *) to view the DMG file.
Here is a key point: After selecting the DMG image file, check connected in the device status shown in (otherwise, the installation interface cannot be entered), and then confirm.
Now, we enter the installation preparation stage of Mac OS X.
Some users may encounter a forbidden symbol when using rebel EFI boot and cannot install it, as shown in:
If this problem occurs, replace rebel EFI with the Darwin image and restart the VM. After the interface is shown, change the Darwin image to the Apple DMG image on the CD/DVD (IDE) device. Remember to check the connected option.
After a while of preparation, the installation process of the Apple system is started, as shown in:
Some students do not see the hard disk option during the installation steps. Do not worry, choose utility> disk tool from the menu at the top of the screen ",:
Execute the "erase" operation on your virtual hard disk ,:
After the operation is complete, close the "disk tool" window and you will be OK ,:
Depending on your computer configuration, you can use the Apple OS after tens of minutes of installation.
The page indicates that your system has been installed and needs to be restarted.
Before restarting, you must remove the Apple DMG image loaded on the CD/DVD (IDE) device during installation and replace it with the Darwin or rebel EFI boot image, otherwise, you will not be able to boot the installed Mac OS X system.
If one boot fails, try using another boot image.
Also need to install sound card, graphics card and other drivers on the Mac system in VMware, you can find related articles and drivers online, or refer to the http://www.linlook.com/detail_MTA0Mg==.HTML
