SoftICE error code 31 cannot be started

Most of the symptoms are due to daemontools. Sptd used by daemontools 4.0 or later. the sys Driver conflicts with SoftICE (so far I can only use version 3.47). If you have unfortunately installed daemontools, you cannot start SoftICE even if you detach it. The system reports:

Please check the Event Viewer for more information

---------------------------

The solution is to delete the remaining sptd. sys of daemontools. Delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/system/CurrentControlSet/services/sptd in the Registry, and then delete the C:/Windows/system32/Drivers/sptd. sys Driver file. Restart the machine.

PS: SoftICE has stopped development. The principle of replacing the interrupt is doomed to its instability and being forced to follow Microsoft's frequent upgrade. We will continue to use windbg in the future.
