Authorized Team Leader Management package
SDC has an advanced Team authorization feature that allows administrators to split package management permissions to team leaders. This management approach uses encapsulation management to another level, allowing the team leader to control the specific settings and configurations of the team while continuing to centralize the execution of critical package details.
Note : You can choose whether to use the Advanced Team authorization feature. If you are just beginning to reach SDC, learn the basics of package delivery before delving into advanced team empowerment.
With advanced team authorization, a core administrator needs to focus on the considerations of a wide range of packages-security settings, testing, adding third-party repositories, building software catalogs, and versioning. A team leader can take a child version of a package and a custom package created by a central administrator to meet the specific needs of their team. However, the important aspect of this feature is that the core administrator can change the base package in all directions.
Package flow when using the Advanced Team authorization featureStandalone, primary, and secondary packages
When using the Advanced Team authorization method, the package takes a special attribute. There are three types of packages-standalone, primary, and minor.
Standalone Packages
Standalone packages are not intended for team authorization purposes. The team leader specifies that the group administrator can change the package, but there is no connection between the package and the other team's packages, it is just a package created specifically for a team.
Independent packet Flow
Major packages
The main package is a basic package created to be used for team authorization purposes. Core administrators create key security policies for packages, generic software, and other broad-ranging settings, and designate them as major packages. A major package is the basis for a secondary package.
The primary package is the parent of the secondary package
Minor Packages
Minor packages are based on and connected to a major package that is customized and managed by the team leader or administrator. A minor package treats the primary package as a primary template, while the secondary packages are created based on the major packages and their customizations. However, when central administration changes the main template, the primary package, these changes affect the relevant minor packages downward, without losing the team's customizations.
Main package flows to end usersAuthorization Policy
When you create a secondary package, you can specify an authorization policy to indicate the control rights of the team owner when customizing the team's secondary package. A simple switching switch allows you to specify which package configurations the team leader can change. This policy specifies that the team leader can manage the content:
- Secondary Package Branding
- Additional Software
- Additional Workspace Tasks
- Additional Notifications
- Group Membership
- Package Promotion
Authorization policyAdvanced Team Packages
Access the Team Packages page from the navigation bar of the main management console and from the location where the primary and secondary packages are managed. Create the main package, and then the minor packages are based on the main package. The main package contains a policy that specifies the permissions that are given to the team leader to manage related minor packages.
