Due to work requirements, my machine has installed both ArcSDE for Oracle and ArcSDE for sqlserver. However, due to constant switching, I have modified environment variables (pointing to sdehome) and other operations, this caused a problem. I used the configuration parameters of sqlserver to connect to the database. However, I connected the database of Oracle and connected the database of SQL Server using Oracle parameters.
At first, I thought it was a problem with ArcSDE. Later I thought it was because I kept modifying the sdehome point and all the related configuration files were messed up.
According to general rules, the configuration file in a sdehome only has the giomgr log of the Instance name and the Service Startup log, which may be a little less rigorous, but we recommend that you try to distinguish these items clearly, several SDE instances correspond to several sdehome instances, which is very organized and convenient to find information.
Install the above principle. I delete and recreate the service and sort out the information.
PS: create a service. We recommend that you use the post wizard as much as possible. You can also use the command to create a service. However, for multiple instances, You need to point to sdehome (that is, the parameter of-h)
After that, a problem occurs. When I use the command line to delete a service, the service will be changed to "disabled" in the service list refresh, when you create an instance of the same name again, the error creating SDE Service (esri_sde)-err (1057) is displayed ).
However, the SDE instance has been deleted, and I am wondering that a previous colleague suggested restarting the instance.
However, when I close the service list and open it again, I find that the disabled SDE service information is gone, and then I can create an SDE instance with the same name.
The problem may be that only the list is refreshed, and the name of the instance is recorded somewhere in the system, resulting in an error in creating an SDE service with the same name.
Close the service list and re-open it. (Close it)
