Solution to reporting ORA-01841 through Incomplete recovery of time points in RMAN

In Linux, RMAN is not completely restored for the database. An error occurred when executing recover database until time 'xxx:

ORA-01841 (full) year must be between-4713 and + 4713/+ 9999 and must not be 0

Invalid format changes.

The solution is to setOperating system environment variable NLS_LANGFor example, export NLS_LANG = AMERICAN_AMERICA.AL32UTF8

A related bug of the error is attached, but the bug has been fixed in Oracle 9i:

• Recovery Manager Tablespace Point in Time Recovery fails if the format used
• NLS_DATE_FORMAT does not lead with a month.
•
• If NLS_DATE_FORMAT leads with a Year then ORA-01841 is returned.
• If NLS_DATE_FORMAT leads with a Day then ORA-01858 is returned.
•
• This bug only affects the Tablespace Point in Time Recovery feature.
