Solution to the problem that files with Chinese names under IIS cannot be downloaded

Source: Internet
Author: User

When using IIS as a web server, some files with Chinese names cannot be downloaded.

Personal test results: files with 2 or 4 Chinese characters cannot be downloaded, but 1, 3, or 5 characters are normal. No tests are conducted in other cases.

Test Environment: English version windows 2000 + IIS 5.0

There are two ways to solve this problem:

1. Modify the registry on the Web server, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetservicesINETINFO_PARAMETERSFAVORDBCS, change 1 to 0, and then restart IIS. (If this value is already 0, the above problem should not occur)

2. Modify IE settings on the client to set always send URL in UTF-8 to deselected. (It is best to adopt the first scheme, otherwise it will not be set for every visitor)
