"Error 800: cannot establish a VPN connection" occurs when you connect to a VPN. The following are generally the reasons:
1. Check that the "destination host name or IP address" in the configuration uses a domain name instead of an IP address. Because VPN needs regular maintenance, we may change the IP address of the VPN Server, but the domain name will not change.
2. There is no correct channel between your network and our VPN Server. Please replace the "host name or IP address of the destination" in the configuration and change it to our Login Server IP address or domain name.
3. temporary faults may occur because the DNS server you are using is too busy to resolve the IP address or domain name of the server. You can do the following: Start-> Run-> open: cmd-> OK. Run the command ipconfig/flushdns and try the VPN connection again. (This is often used)
4. unable to connect due to configuration exceptions. Although the user has not made any configuration modifications, the configuration (registry information) may be abnormal due to internal system faults, this is a common problem in Windows. The solution is to delete the configuration of the original VPN connection and re-establish a new VPN connection. (Common)
5. Check that the connection security parameter configuration is consistent with the configuration requirements.
6. If the firewall rules on your machine are too strict, you cannot connect to the outside world. Please adjust or close all firewalls and try again.
7. If you have a user (vro) who has installed the home gateway, check whether the vro has enabled the PPTP/L2TP protocol. We recommend that you restart the home gateway device.
