To solve this problem, follow these steps: 1. In the SQLServer Installation Wizard, click Cancel.
2. Start the Registry Editor. To do this, click Start, Run, type regedt 32, and then OK.
3. Find and double-click the SafeDllSearchMode registry key.

On a Windows Server 2003 Server or a Windows Server 2003 storage Server, this registry entry is located under the following registry subkeys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Session Manager
Run the Registry with SP 4 on Windows 2000 Server. The registry key is located under the following registry subitem:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ System \ Control \ Session Manager
As the DWORD Value, note that if the SafeDllSearchMode registry key does not exist, create the SafeDllSearchMode registry key.
4. In the value data box, change the value from 1 to 0, and click OK.
5. Exit the Registry Editor.
