Solutions to CDKEY requirements during SQL Server Installation

If you modify the Registry correctly, you can use the registry editor or other methods to warn that a Serious problem may occur. These problems may require you to reinstall the operating system. Microsoft cannot solve these problems. You are at your own risk to modify the registry.

To solve this problem, follow these steps: 1. In the SQLServer Installation Wizard, click Cancel.
2. Start the Registry Editor. To do this, click Start, Run, type regedt 32, and then OK.
3. Find and double-click the SafeDllSearchMode registry key.

On a Windows Server 2003 Server or a Windows Server 2003 storage Server, this registry entry is located under the following registry subkeys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Session Manager
Run the Registry with SP 4 on Windows 2000 Server. The registry key is located under the following registry subitem:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ System \ Control \ Session Manager
