I always wanted to move the Chinese forum in Chinatown to the 1and1 server. At last, I was free to upload all the files, but I found the following error during the trial run:

Selected collating sequence not supported by the operating system.

After a Google attack, I found that more than one person had this problem. The main reason is that my current web hosting company uses the English OS version of the English operating system. The access files used by the Forum are attached to the dynamic network. The implication is that they were created in the Chinese operating system. According to Microsoft's official website, if access is created in one language and used in another language, this error is prompted. My original web hosting company supports Chinese, so it has never been okay.

For Microsoft technical explanations, see
Http://support.microsoft.com/kb/141306/EN-US/

According to the solutions recommended by Microsoft, I know that I cannot allow 1and1 to install a multi-language support package-because I once called their Technical Support Department (the last time I asked why my access was garbled in Chinese ), I was told that they would not specifically install Chinese packages for me.

It seems that you have to do it yourself. The following are some processes for solving this problem.

Since Microsoft says it is because of the language environment for creating database files, can I open new files in the same language environment? At this time, the "same language environment" that I think of is the same OS (operating system) language environment. Because I use WINXP in English now, it should be a language operating system used with my new web hosting company. To confirm this idea, create an access file and upload the new access file to the server. Conclusion: It is not the language version of the operating system.

Continue to find the reason. Since the files created in WINXP cannot be used, it seems that the difference lies in access. I think the difference between me and the server is probably that I have installed Chinese language support for XP, which leads to some differences in access processing. After carefully reading Microsoft's technical explanation, it seems that they have mentioned the Data Sorting Problem (new database sort order ). I immediately open my access program and click "Tools" --> "options" to find that my new database sort order is Chinese character rather than general. Now I understand: the problem is that the default sorting of newly created files by access is different in different languages.

To solve my problems:
1) Open my Microsoft Access, open any file, click "Tools", select options, and then select general. Note that there is a new database sort order drop-down box in the lower right corner. Select general. Disable the file. (Note: options can be used only when a file is opened)
2), and then "file" --> "New... "Create a blank data file, and then" file "-->" Get external data "--" import ". Open my old database file and upload all the tables to the new file, then save the new file. I want to do this because I already have a lot of data in my forum. I don't want to start from scratch. If you encounter such problems when creating a forum or system, you can create a new table or use SQL query to write initial data.
3) Save the new file and upload it to the server.
4). Get it done!
