Recently encountered on the project to compress some pictures on windows, picture file names are Chinese, SCP to Linux with unzip after the file name

Reason:


Because Zip does not specify the encoding format when compressing, the encoding in the zip file generated under Windows is gbk/gb2312, and the default encoding under Linux is UTF8.

Causes these zip files to unpack under the Linux to appear the Chinese garbled problem.


Solution:

Use 7z decompression.

Install 7zip and CONVMV

# Fedora
$ Su-c ' yum install 7zip convmv '
# ubuntu
$ sudo apt-get install 7zip CONVMV

Execute the command uncompressed


# using 7z uncompressed
$ lang=c 7za x your-zip-file.zip
# recursive transcoding from GBK to UTF-8 $ convmv-f gbk-t UTF8
.
