Solve the problem of the Service cocould not be started. Error: 0 during MySQL installation.

System software:

Mysql5.0

XP SP2

System hardware:

IBM x31

 

Status:

Use MySQL server instance config Wizard to reset the default MySQL Character Set

Failed to restart MySQL.

Tip:

The service cocould not be started. Error: 0

 

Solution:

 

Choose Start> Run and enter services. MSC.

 

Open the registry and go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/system/CurrentControlSet/services"
Delete the service corresponding to MySQL

 

Uninstall MySQL

 

Restart the system

 

Delete the MySQL installation folder and delete the Mysql Data Storage files.

 

Restart the system

 

Install and configure MySQL

 

OK.
