1. Partition:My computer has four c d e f disks, and the f disk is in the fat32 format. In addition, there is 20 GB of free space (the Internet says we want to split this free space from the xp extended partition, but there are no specific steps. I tried several methods to split this free partition.) I am going to install Fedora14 in this 20g free space.
2. Installation preparation: I put the image file of fedora 14 on the drive F. Then download grub4dos, decompress it to drive c, and place grldr under the root directory of drive c;
Menu. lst modified and saved it to the root directory of drive F. copy img and vmlinux to the root directory of drive F, and copy the boot. the INI file has been modified accordingly. Save these files. Restart your computer
3. Install Fedora14: Go to the installation page through grub boot to customize partitions. Select the 20 GB free space left between me. I first created a 12 GB "/" root directory and then created "/boot". The size is 100 MB, select to force the primary partition, but a prompt is displayed that the partition cannot be divided, and the prompt is insufficient space. Then I created a 2G swap partition. Then I created only two partitions, one "/" and one "swap. Finally, I will reboot the system.
4. The system directly enters the Fedora14 system and does not display the startup option interface (I thought it was finished at the time, so my XP system won't be washed out). But after entering Fedora, under my computer, all my xp folders are there, and all my files are still there.
5. Later, after entering grub, modifying grub. conf and changing the default startup Item, I re-entered my XP system.

7. I logged on to the Windows XP system and used the built-in disk partition device. The above two Linux partitions are in the extended partitions of XP.
