Solving Spotlight ' indexing ' issues

Some people with bad personality sometimes encounter the problem of the picture above: when you want to use Spotlight to find something, it will always tell you that it is busy indexing, and does not give an estimated time to complete. At this point you have to think about whether something is wrong, and you can try to fix it by using the method of deleting all existing indexes:

Log in with a user with administrator privileges, open terminal, and enter the following line to close the index work:

sudo mdutil-i off/

Follow the onscreen prompts to enter the current administrator password to confirm. Next Enter:

sudo mdutil-e/

This line of command deletes/Spotlight all index contents and then restarts/indexes with this line of command.

sudo mdutil-i on/

Patiently wait a while, generally starting to start the index again the likelihood of problems will be relatively small.
