Speed and accuracy of the mouse

For more information about the speed and accuracy of the mouse-Linux general technology-Linux technology and application, see the following. Let's talk about my previous usage habits (I believe many people are the same as me). In XP, the mouse speed is the fastest, "Improving pointer accuracy" is not open (this is actually the mouse speed, I thought it was just to move the mouse at the same distance at different speeds, the closer the mouse moves, the farther the pointer sweeps over, but it is actually not. I will explain it in detail below ). In ubuntu, mouse acceleration (in fact, the translation is not good, this is the so-called speed in WINDOWS, I will use "Speed" to express, the sensitivity below is similar to that of mouse acceleration before WINDOWS.) the highest sensitivity is the lowest (I am used to calling it "acceleration" below ").

When I used GIMP in ubuntu to process images, I found that my pointer was at least moved by 5 pixels. I opened the mouse setting software, slowed down the speed and moved the mouse slowly, the minimum movement margin of the pointer is 4 pixels, so after repeated debugging, I found a point (about half of it ), is the fastest speed that allows the pointer to scan every pixel point by point. (At this time, the number of pixels scanned by each mouse sliding 1 inch pointer should be the so-called DPI)

Then I went to XP and opened the canvas and found the same problem. The minimum movement was 4 pixels. So I moved to the control panel to slow down the speed and drag it from the right to the left 4th (that is, three line segments away from the right boundary), we can scan each pixel point by point. (I tried it on XP of Server 2, which is also in this place. Server 2 is MX500 and seems to be 800DPI, so this is indeed related to DPI. If DPI is higher, this enables point-by-point full speed)

At this time, I noticed the "improve pointer accuracy" below the speed bar. After I hooked it up, I dragged the speed to the fastest speed. Then I tried it on the graphic board, and it turned out to be point-by-point! It seems that this can improve accuracy. However, I was unable to bear the mouse acceleration, so I turned it off. Go back to ubuntu and fill up the speed and acceleration, so that GIMP can be point-by-point.

Now let's think about it. The acceleration and accuracy are indeed related. It is estimated that the system uses software to compensate for the insufficient mouse performance, so that you have high precision when moving the mouse at a low speed (the actual speed slows down to ensure high accuracy ), high-speed mouse movement ensures high speed through pixel jump (it's okay to skip a few pixels in a fast way, but it's still scientific) however, because the pointer movement distance is not proportional to the mouse movement distance, it will make many people uncomfortable (such as me ), therefore, they can only choose one of the best speed to ensure accuracy within the performance range of the mouse. Habits, you have to change, or change the mouse.
