SQL Server 2005 (64-bit) system requirements
Note: The SQL Server 2005 64-bit version supports extended systems, called Windows on Windows (WOW64). WOW64 is a feature of the Microsoft Windows 64-bit version that allows 32-bit applications to be performed in 32-bit mode on this machine. Applications can run in 32-bit mode, even if the underlying operating system is running on a 64-bit platform.
