To stop automatic seeding of a secondary replica on an existing availability group


Executes on the primary replica

ALTER availability GROUP [<availability_group_name>]modify REPLICA on ' <secondary_node> ' with (seeding_ MODE = MANUAL) GO


The script above cancels a secondary replica that is currently seeding and prevents SQL Server from automatically initializing the copy in this availability group. This does not stop the synchronization of any initialized replicas.
