SQL server char nchar nvarchar varchar region, nchar

Char stores a fixed-length string with a maximum length of 8000 bytes.

Varchar stores variable-length strings with a maximum length of 8000 bytes.

Nchar stores Unicode strings of a fixed length. The maximum length is 4000 characters.

Nvarchar stores the Unicode string that can be sung. The maximum length is 4000 characters.

Note:

The storage space is allocated differently. For example, if varchar (10) is allocated 10 bytes of nvarchar (10), 20 bytes can be allocated. That is to say, nvarchar (10) or varchar (10) stores more information. Because one is stored in bytes and the other is a character.
