The following methods are used:

(1) Start SQL Server Management Studio and select Administration-the Maintenance plan option in the Object Explorer window.

2 Right click on "Maintenance Plan" and select the "Maintenance Plan Wizard" option from the pop-up shortcut menu

, eject the Maintenance Plan Wizard dialog box as shown in the figure, and click Next

3 pop-up as shown in the "Select Target Server" dialog box, you can enter the name of the maintenance plan in the Name text box, and in the Description text box, enter the description of the maintenance plan, the server name you want to use in the Server text box, and the correct ID information, and then click Next.

You can select a variety of maintenance tasks: Check database integrity, shrink the database, rebuild or organize the index, update statistics, purge history, execute SQL

Server Agent jobs, backup databases, and so on. In this example, the backup database (full) check box is selected, and the settings for other maintenance tasks are similar.

(5) Click "Next" button, pop-up as shown in the "Select Maintenance Task Order" dialog box, if you have more than one maintenance task, you can use the "Move Up" and "Move Down" two buttons to set the order of maintenance tasks, set up after the Click Next button.

(6) pop-up as shown in the "Define Tasks" dialog box, under "Database"

Drop-down list box, you can select the name of the database to back up, in the backup components area, you can choose to back up or back up the database files, and in the target area you can add backup files and backup devices, set up the backup data to be appended to the backup file, and so on. When you have finished setting up, click the Next button.

11 After you create the maintenance plan, verify that the SQL Server Agent is started: In the Object Explorer window, right-click SQL

Server Agent, select the "Start" option from the pop-up shortcut menu.
