First, related folders

Oracle_base is the root of Oracle, and Oracle_home is the catalog for Oracle products. Under Oracle_base is admin and product.

Oracle_home is the Oracle command, connection library, installation assistant, L monitoring and so on a series of things. Oracle_home is a little deeper than the Oracle_base directory. In other words: Oracle_home= $ORACLE _base/product/oracle_version.

Racle_sid This is the full name of the environment variable "Oracle System Identifier", which is used to identify different instances on a single server, by default the instance name is the value of Oracle_sid (that is, Instance_name= $ORACLE _sid. Of course, the instance name can also be different from the ORACLE_SID environment variable, as long as the initialization parameter file shows that the value of the specified instance_name parameter is different from the value of the ORACLE_SID environment variable. Under the Unix/linux platform, the main function of this environment variable is to hash the environment variable with oracle_home, and get a unique value to identify the shared memory segment and the SGA.
