Static and Dynamic IP Address Setting for Ubuntu

Modify/etc/Network/interfaces

Auto eth0iface eth0 Inet staticaddress IP address netmask subnet mask Gateway

Dynamic IP Address Setting modification/etc/Network/interfaces

Auto eth0iface eth0 Inet DHCP

Modify DNS settings/etc/resolv. conf

Nameserver DNS Server IP Address

Restart the networking service

Sudo/etc/init. d/networking restart
