USB flash drives are now widely used. However, it may be a pity if you just use them to store data. In fact, we can make the USB flash drive more energy! For example, today I will teach you how to replace the system password with your USB flash drive. Only when you plug in the USB flash drive can you access the system normally. Otherwise, no operation can be performed on the system. How about it? Are you very interested in trying it out?
To successfully implement the above functions, we need to use the tool named Disklogon, which is a powerful security setting tool that allows us to use USB flash drives, floppy disks, and other mobile devices to log on to the system, the user name and password are not allowed during login. Once these devices are removed, the system can be set to automatically locked or shut down. Next let's take a look at how to change the USB flash drive into a "key disk" that controls the logon system ".

After the software is installed, restart as required. Then, click the "Password" button on the System screen and enter the Password on the keyboard (if you have set a Password for Logon ). However, we do not want this to happen every time. Next we will set up a more powerful function for the USB flash drive to directly control system logon.
Click "Disklogon Options" in the Start menu to go to the settings page. Then, perform the following steps to set the parameters:
Step 1: Execute the "Options/Disklogon/Disks" Operation in sequence. By default, all the drive letters are checked on the right side of the window, but we only want to use the USB flash drive as the key disk, therefore, only select the drive letter of the USB flash drive (for example, the author's letter is L :).
Step 2: click the "Options/DiskLogon/General" branch on the left side of the window. Next, we need to set different operations on the right side when there is an optimization disk or no optimization disk.
1. in the "Disk removal behavior" drop-down list box, select "Lock computer when the disk is removed" (when the Disk is taken out, Lock the computer ), in this way, the system will automatically lock the USB flash drive after it is removed. If you want to Log out automatically after the USB flash drive is removed, you can select "Log off when the disk is removed ".
2. in the "Log on to Windows" drop-down list box, select "Log on when disk is connected" (automatically Log on to the system when a USB disk is linked to it). In this way, if the USB disk is not connected after it is started, you cannot enter the system.
3. In the "Unlock computer" drop-down list box, select "Unlock computer when the disk is connected" (the system is automatically unlocked when the USB flash drive is connected ).
Tip: by default, if you do not connect to the USB flash drive when logging on to the system, you can click "Cancel" and manually enter the user name and password to enter the system. To enhance security, remove the "Allow users to type their usename and password to log on or unlock computer" option (Allow users to enter the user name and password to log on or unlock the system! In this way, you cannot log on to the system without the USB flash drive.
Control system Logon: Create logon information
Step 3: After completing the above settings, we can set the last step, that is, the user name and password used to log on to the system to unlock. Click the "User Accounts" tab, and then click "Change" in the "Change Logon information" area to go to the User name and password creation page (figure 2 ). Step 1: select the active USB flash drive in the "Step1" area, and then select an ID number (such as 01) in the "Step2" area ), "Create New" is available. Click this button and enter the user name and password in the pop-up window.
If you want to use an encryption algorithm to Encrypt login information, select Encrypt this logon information with strong encryption algorithm in the dialog box. Click "close" to return to the main window.
Tip: After you have set the logon username and password, a file named logon. dln is generated in the root directory of the USB flash drive. This file cannot be deleted! Otherwise, even if you have inserted a USB flash drive during the next restart, the system cannot access the system because the system cannot read the "fingerprint!
So far, all related settings have been completed, and now your USB flash drive is a key disk. You cannot access the system without connecting the USB flash drive. If you detach the USB flash drive, the system will automatically lock-clicking "Unlock" in the dialog box is also invalid, unless you connect the USB flash drive to your computer again. Currently, the software only supports Windows 2000, XP, and 2003 systems.
