Steps for configuring the wireless switching function for a wireless router

Currently, most schools use the yixun client to access the Internet. Each student in the dormitory has an account that connects to the Internet through a switch. This makes the Internet connection inconvenient and messy. If there is a wireless switch, the laptop can connect to the wireless signal and use the yixun client to dial up the Internet. Now I will share with you how to set a wireless router to a wireless switch.

Tools/raw materials: Wireless routers, network cables, and computers.

STEP/Method

1. first, if there is a wireless router, connect the power source first, and plug the connected "cat" (modem) network cable into a lan port. Generally, I plug it into the lan1 port, do not unplug the plug-in (this is the biggest difference with setting it as a router), and then plug in any lan port with the network cable connected to the computer. After doing this, then you will see an address and account password behind the vro. After the connection is established, enter the address displayed on the vro in the browser, which is generally 192.168.1.1. If not, please refer to the instructions.

2. Enter and enter the corresponding account and password. Generally, the default admin account is used for new purchases.

3. Go to the operation page and click Wireless Settings.

(1) Click-Basic settings and set the SSID number to a name that you can remember. Click Save and then restart.

(2) Click security settings to set a complicated password that you can remember. Click Save and then restart. The default "automatic" authentication type and encryption algorithm can be used.

4. Click -- DHCP server, and click -- do not start. Click Save and then restart.

5. Search for the signal of your vro, click Connect, and enter the security key. After the connection, click the wired connection to connect to the Internet.

In fact, set the wireless switch only need to rewrite two items, one is to set the password, generally choose wpa-psk/wpa2-psk, set a complex and you can remember the password, so safe, the second is not to start the DHCP server. The name of the vro is only used to make it easier for you to find your own vro.

After the settings are complete, multiple people in the dormitory can access the Internet via wireless connection at the same time, but they still use different accounts, because the same port still has some influence on each other. We recommend that you do not tell people in the dormitory the password, because the number of hosts that support simultaneous Internet access on one port is limited. If someone else is on, you may not be able to use it.

A vro can be directly connected to a Windows 7 System host. The IP address of the host of the XP system may need to be modified. The specific operation is as follows: access is not protected after the router is connected; a dialog box is displayed when you click this line. Then, click details, in this case, an ip address is displayed. Record the ip address and exit. Click Advanced wireless connection options. Find the ip protocol and click Enter. Click manually enter an ip address to enter the recorded ip address; click DNS to automatically generate a DNS code. Click OK to connect to the vro and use it as usual.

In the end, this setting is to disable the routing function of the wireless router. It can only be used as a wireless switch, but the dormitory can be connected to it to play Intranet games. Because it does not have a bound account, the mobile phone cannot use its Wi-Fi function.
